Zell am See, a Beautiful Alpine Enclave

I do not know why, when I think of Salzburg, the memory I have left is to this film that made it famous Romy Schneider, Sisi Empress. Yes, I know that movie was based in Vienna (See flights to Vienna), I think, but keeps that Salzburg is stately, almost imperial in big central European capitals. A haven of peace which also offers the advantages of a major city.
But today my recommendations do not go to the capital of Mozart. Today is going to one of the places that I highly recommend that you visit on any trip from Salzburg. This is Lake Zell. Only travel, just 84 kms. from the city to Zell am See, the capital of the area, is simply wonderful. A journey that allows us to follow alpine lakes, waterfalls, forests, animals and the most fascinating landscapes imaginable.
I did the journey by train, a journey of just two hours, I was too short, but it is also recommended, even more, do it in your own car, because then you can even visit the famous Alpine Road, considered one of the most beautiful in Europe and that will take you through the Hohe Tauern National Park to peak at 3,798 m. Glossglockner altitude. Just close your eyes and imagine the scenes of nature that you can see from those heights of the Alps.
Zell am See, 4 km2, is a splendid winter skating rink, because the cold freezes the area, while in summer humidity reigns and green everywhere. is normal at this time to see gone right private boats and fishermen settled on their boats waiting patiently for a bite.
Zell am See, on one edge, not that it is a spectacular city. Its beauty lies in its splendid setting and scenery. The old town is typical of the Alpine towns, beautifully preserved and very warm and welcoming. Its center is the Plaza Mayor with white houses and wooden balconies with balustrades filled to overflowing with colorful flowers. Domina Plaza Vogtturm tower, a building at a time, back in the thirteenth century was a barn and is now the City Museum and near the Church of St. Hippolytus, in Romanesque style.
Today, the lake is a world-class resort in Austria. Ski slopes in winter and summer sports on the lake in summer. But whatever the season it is, a rightful place of rest and enjoyment for the senses.
Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein Castle must be one of the most desirable tourist destinations in the world. Must be because his image, an architectural beauty in stone, surrounded by a landscape that makes one sigh, adorned countless calendars, pictures, posters etc. This majestic work of the candidates for new Wonders of the World.
The castle is located in the region of Fuessen, old city, surrounded by old castles, monasteries and castles. Nearby there is even an ancient Roman road, the Via Claudia, which crosses the land from Wuerzburg to Innsbruck. The whole region is surrounded by beautiful mountains of the Alps, lakes, waterfalls and mirrored.
Neuschwanstein means New Swan Stone, and was so named after the Swan Knight of Wagner’s famous opera of the same name. It was built in the late 19 th century, in Germany, near the border with Austria. (Google Earth coordinates 47 ° 33’16 “N, 10 ° 44’10″ E).
Its construction was begun by King Ludwig (Louis II) of Bavaria, known as the mad Ludwig. Laid the foundation stone on September 5, 1869. The design by the architect Christian Jank. Ludwig asked his architect to be constructed entirely of raw materials and people Bavarian Bavarians. I wanted to resemble castles out of fairytales, and inside should have all the technological advances of the moment. It is said that Ludwig used the funds to build the kingdom so majestic building, but the fact is that he used his own money.
Neuschwanstein has 360 rooms, and only 14 have a fully finished design, the others were left unfinished, as Ludwig was deposed as king in 1886, and then died mysteriously. The castle was opened to the public shortly thereafter.
These 14 rooms are decorated with unsurpassed luxury, with paintings and tapestries with scenes from Richard Wagner operas, of which Ludwig was a great admirer.
One thing to keep in mind is that not permitted to take photographs inside the castle.

Cyprus Travel Tips

Some tips are obvious, but anyway it is essential to have great caution, especially in the “Green Line”, a peculiar place. Both this site and the rest of Cyprus, it is advisable not to talk about the conflict, the invasion of Turks, Greeks and others. This is mostly cautious and set aside the political issue when going to a country because we want to enjoy. It is better to focus on enjoying what you see in Cyprus on these issues, which unfortunately does not change.
I also called attention to another board that is usually given. It’s about not taking pictures on the Green Line, especially because often full of military and may not make them go into your room grace. To not be any unpleasant surprises, stop taking pictures in this area. Once you get into the Turkish area, very careful with this, because we are totally unprotected against anything that might happen. It is what it is not recognized as a territory, that is illegal.
What matters most is not to attract attention and less to the Turkish military, for that of what might happen. It is best not to “seek the tickling” to these people, on the other side are doing their job security and may feel intimidated by the presence of cameras that are shooting. It is essential to enjoy your trip to Cyprus, because there is much to discover.
