The Program Of Religious Tourism

Minister of Culture of Buenos Aires, Hernán Lombardi, said the program of religious tourism, by the Ente Turismo de Buenos Aires, will begin on Saturday 15, on the eve of Palm Sunday with several processions and runs all week until the day Easter, and ends with the solemn mass in the Metropolitan Cathedral.

The schedule of activities is led by the performance of two themed tours on churches of the city, which will be on Thursday 20 and Saturday 22 from the Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy in Reconquista and Peron, from the 17 .

The guided tours, also organized by the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires and address of Worship Buenos Aires, are free, shall be on foot and do not require reservation, although it was reported that the activity be suspended because of rain.

Also expected the world premiere of “Requiem” by Cristian Favre by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires, Facundo by Agudín, presented in two concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday at 20.30 in the Basilica of the Rosary. The program also includes the possibility of visiting the museum of religious art, including the one in the parish of St. Ignatius of Loyola or the Franciscan Alsina 380, and offer four liturgies will officiate in French, German, Danish and English.

During the presentation of the program, Lombardi, in his role as head of the secretariat of Tourism, said “religious tourism has grown substantially in recent years.” He announced that the first schedule of activities for Easter is the kickoff of a multi-religious broader program covering at least eight themed tours of different faiths.
