Fatima and Her Miracles
Fatima is 140 km from Lisbon, and shares its margins with the cities of Aveiro, Coimbra and Leiria, all this mystic cord, forms what is known as the Silver Coast, a tourist area in Portugal and Europe. This city, which is connected with the sea, is a revered place in the Catholic world. Its streets keep one of the most captivating stories for the Church today: the apparitions of the Virgin Mary, between May and October 1917. The story goes that the Virgin appeared before three young (Lucia Dos Santos, Francisco and Jacinta Marto) and entrusted them with secrets that have seen life after the fact, among others, the end of the first world war.
The shrine of Fatima stands an imposing tower of 65 meters and is located just in front of another mythical place, including the Chapel of the Apparitions. Fatima is a deeply Catholic, as well as tourism, because a point does not exclude the other.
Fatima is quaint, very small (about 8,000 inhabitants) and there are many options to get around, for example his “little train” which will give tourists the chance to know each outside the city.
