The rocket festival is a local tradition in Laos in which participants throw bamboo rockets manufactured in house.
The rockets, called Bang Fai have a gunpowder-powered and are the product of a carefully engineered by fireworks competing to see who wins.
Although the locals say that the rockets are fired to make the rain starts, ancient legends including animal shaped kings and heroes who suffer misfortune, they say that it is actually upside down, the rain that brings the rockets.
Anyway, the festival is an occasion of popular entertainment in which all participate.The party includes groupsmusicperforming live and dancing locals.
During the festival parades are held and is an excellent opportunity to try all kinds of local foods.
