The Piazza Navona is one of the most beautiful places in the world, its simplicity, and design presence surrounded by buildings surrounding the square, give it a surreal look and even mysterious sculptures by themselves can be seen there.
Thousands of Appeals have tried to describe this place trying to figure out, at least in part, some of its most common hidden from the observer. At its center, the square hosts the 4 Rivers Fountain, Bernini commissioned work.

The site of the plaza, occupy the site where the stadium stood Dominciano. One of the figures within the 4 Rivers Fountain, is seen trying to cover herself with one of his hands, a desperate and unsettling sense of dread is drawn between both, in her grieving face.
The fear is the fear caused by religion, fear of offending the church, located just a few meters from the source, directly in front of her.
Bernini’s work attempts to criticize the gesture of the protagonist, excessive modesty and prudence of a religion that submits to thousands of pilgrims flooding them with fear for this life and yearning for they know not, or if there are certainties.
